Our 11+ Summer School is designed for Year 5 pupils preparing for the Buckinghamshire 11+, giving them a focused boost just before the exam.
Over five structured days, pupils take part in an intensive mix of targeted tutoring, realistic mock tests, answer reviews and teaching sessions. The aim is to sharpen skills, strengthen exam technique and help children walk into the test feeling calm, confident and capable.
The timing of this week is very deliberate. Held during the final week of the summer holidays, it helps offset the well-known summer learning slide and gets children academically back into rhythm just before the exam. It also leaves a short window afterwards for final fine-tuning in practice.
During the week pupils will:
Sit realistic 11+ mock examinations
Review answers and learn how to improve quickly
Strengthen key exam techniques and timing
Build confidence and exam resilience
Our team of experienced, qualified teachers create a warm and supportive learning environment, and we keep class sizes small with a maximum ratio of 1 teacher to 10 pupils to ensure every child receives individual attention.
While the learning is focused, the week is not all desks and papers. We build in breaks, games and outdoor activities to keep children refreshed. In previous years we’ve played football, enjoyed Pooh Sticks by the stream, and finished the week with a walk for ice creams to celebrate the children’s hard work.
By the end of the week, pupils leave feeling prepared, reassured and ready for the 11+.

11+ Summer School: Final Preparation for the Buckinghamshire Test
Designed to boost your child's confidence and understanding, we will support your child in practising tests, questions and teach them inportant techniques to cope if they make a mistake. We make learning fun and engaging while addressing the practical need for focus and hard work. Parents are given feedback and guidance on the last day of the course ahead of the 11+.
The course runs Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Children are asked to provide their own packed lunch and snacks.
